What is GreenTec filament?

GreenTEC filament is the most environmentally friendly filament type for a 3D printer. This biologically-organic composite filament consists of 100% natural raw materials and is therefore completely recyclable.

Main properties of GreenTEC filament:

  • Very little distortion
  • High tensile and bending strength
  • Food safe
  • Biodegradable
  • Temperature resistant up to 110 - 120°C
  • Low print temperature of 170 - 200°C

GreenTEC filament comes from Extruder's BIO Performance range of filaments and is biodegradable. This makes it an excellent biological alternative to ABS & PETG filament. Where PLA filament is only partially recyclable, GreenTEC filament is 100% recyclable.

The GreenTEC filament has been developed for industrial and technical areas and has a very high-temperature resistance. After printing, it has a high-quality matte finish. The filament also complies with EU regulations for food contact.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of GreenTEC filament?

Benefits of GreenTEC filament Disadvantages of GreenTEC filament
Fragrance-free More expensive than other filament types
Food safe
CO2-neutral
Easy to print
No heated print bed required
Excellent mechanical resistance

Tips for printing with GreenTEC filament:

  • Cool objects printed at high speed with a fan first. This prevents a freshly printed layer from collapsing.
  • Only use filament with the correct diameter.

  • With Kapton tape you create an ideal print surface for your 3D prints.
  • If you want a higher heat resistance, look at GreenTEC PRO filament
  • Order a GreenTEC filament sample package to get acquainted with this filament.
