The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. The board offers full support for the microcontroller and can be easily connected to a computer (USB) or power adapter, after which you can get started right away.
The Uno is equipped with an ATmega16U2 (ATmega8U2 up to version R2) which is programmed as a USB/serial converter. An improvement over its predecessors featuring FTDI's USB/serial driver.
